RAW Industries was founded in 2001 to provide business optimisation services to Anglo Platinum’s Engineering department in automating their drawing office through bespoke developed systems. Various automation systems where developed and used on multiple multi-billion Rand projects. Over the years the service offering grew to cater for virtually all other departments serving a user base of more than 4 000 users.
In 2008, three years before Microsoft 365 was launched, Anglo Platinum adopted SharePoint across the company, and we started to pivot all bespoke systems developed to date to run in/on SharePoint. As SharePoint’s capabilities were quite limited, the bespoke systems’ functionality far exceeded SharePoint’s capabilities but offered seamless integration where SharePoint was used as the backbone and user interface. More importantly, it gave us a deep understanding of what can be done using SharePoint.
10 years later we started to offer both the enterprise level business optimisation and SharePoint skills we acquired over the previous 17 years to IT companies as a addon service to their clients.
Today we engage with businesses directly by blending bespoke development and SharePoint to offer robust and cost-effective solutions running on Microsoft 365, which has become the de facto standard for most businesses around the world.
